This test is the COVID-19 IgG antibody test. This test is appropriate for those who want to determine their IgG antibody status in order to donate Covid plasma (ie convalescent plasma). The person must not have current symptoms (not sick for the past 14 days) or must be recovered from Covid-19 for at least 14 days. You may not order this test if you have symptoms of Covid (fever, loss of taste or smell, feeling sick in the past 14 days), directly exposed to Covid-19 in the past 14 days, a current PUI or Person Under Investigation, or tested for Covid within the past 10 days. This test is not for diagnosing Covid-19; see your healthcare professional if you are feeling sick or do not meet the criteria for the Covid-19 antibody IgG test.

If you are a resident of the following states, you may not order this test: New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Maryland. This test is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostics for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. 360bbb-3(b) (1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner. This test has been authorized only for detecting the presence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, not for any otherviruses or pathogens. *Negative results do not rule out SARS-CoV-2 infection, particularly in those who have been in contact with the virus.
