This test is the COVID-19 IgG antibody test.
UseQualitative and semi-quantitative detection of IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in human serum and plasma. This assay is intended for use as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive immune response to SARS-CoV-2, indicating recent or prior infection. Samples should only be tested from individuals that are 15 days or more post symptom onset. IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 are generally detectable in blood several days after initial infection, although the duration of time antibodies are present post-infection is not well characterized. Individuals may have detectable virus present for several weeks following seroconversion. This test is appropriate for those who want to determine their IgG antibody status in order to donate Covid plasma (ie convalescent plasma). The person must not have current symptoms (not sick for the past 14 days) or must be recovered from Covid-19 for at least 14 days. You may not order this test if you have symptoms of Covid (fever, loss of taste or smell, feeling sick in the past 14 days), directly exposed to Covid-19 in the past 14 days, a current PUI or Person Under Investigation, or tested for Covid within the past 10 days. This test is not for diagnosing Covid-19; see your healthcare professional if you are feeling sick or do not meet the criteria for the Covid-19 antibody IgG test.
